A supplicant at the door is a gift from God to believers.
Every suppliant is deserving, even if he comes on a horse.
Avert the punishment of the fire, even with the gift of a date.
If beggars never lied, those who refuse them would never be blessed.
Giving alms never reduces wealth.
Give alms, and God will protect you from seventy brutal forms of death.
Charity extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire.
Charity protects against a bad death.
Charity in secret assuages the lord s wrath.
Do not belittle any form of charity
The hand that gives is better than the hand that takes.
The greatest charity comes from the tongue.
Believers will be shaded by their charity on judgment day.
